Advanced Implantology
Advanced implantology and full-arch rehabilitation
When most or all teeth are lost, or bone is scarce, the case needs integrated surgical and prosthetic planning. Dr. Shadi Alshaikh combines a three-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and more than 10,000 implants with full digital planning of each arch.

Who is this for?
Full-arch rehabilitation on implants means fixing a complete row of teeth on several implants placed across the jaw, instead of a removable denture. It suits people who have lost most or all of their teeth, or who can no longer tolerate a conventional denture.
- All or most teeth in a jaw are missing
- A full removable denture that hinders eating, speech and confidence
- Bone loss that makes conventional implants difficult
- Patients told elsewhere that implants are not possible
How we do it here
The same path for every patient: imaging, digital planning, then guided treatment.
Comprehensive assessment
CBCT scan, digital impression, full medical history, and photos of the face and smile to understand the case from every angle.
Full-arch planning
Implants are distributed over the available bone and the final teeth are designed digitally before surgery, so you see them first.
Bone preparation when needed
Bone grafting or a sinus lift, in the same session or before it, depending on what the scan shows.
Guided surgery
Implants are placed according to the surgical guide, under microscope magnification when needed, with measured intervention.
Temporary, then final restoration
A temporary restoration during healing in suitable cases, then the digitally manufactured final restoration.
The devices we rely on
- 3D CBCT imaging
- Intraoral digital scanner
- Surgical microscope
What to expect
A written plan
Stages, cost and expected duration are handed to you in writing after assessment.
Temporary teeth
Possible during healing in cases the doctor selects.
Follow-up
Regular review visits between stages to confirm healing.
Digital laboratory
Restorations are designed and made digitally from the same scan and plan.
Aftercare
- Soft food in the first weeks, as instructed by the doctor
- Careful daily cleaning around the implants and the restoration with the tools we show you
- No smoking, to protect healing and bone
- Regular reviews and GBT cleaning to keep the result
The information on this page is general education and does not replace a clinical examination. Every treatment plan is set after assessment at the clinic.
Risks and possible complications
Every surgical procedure carries some risk. These are the most common, and what we do to reduce them.
- Complications of the implants themselves: infection, or one implant failing to fuse, which may mean adjusting the plan.
- Closeness of the implants to the sinus in the upper jaw or the nerve in the lower jaw; 3D planning aims to avoid it.
- Fracture or wear of the prosthesis with use, repaired or renewed.
- A period of adaptation in speech and chewing in the first weeks after fitting.
- Inflammation of the tissues around the implants if the prosthesis is not cleaned regularly or maintenance visits lapse.
What we do to reduce them: planning on a CBCT scan before any intervention, strict sterilisation, clear written instructions, and close follow-up after the procedure. If something unexpected happens, we tell you and treat it.
When this treatment may not be right for you
Not every case is ready now. These situations need preparation first, or a different option.
- Anyone who cannot commit to maintenance and regular cleaning visits.
- Severe, unmanaged teeth grinding; a night guard and a suitable plan are needed.
- Not enough bone even with implants distributed across the jaw; it is built first.
- An unstable general condition or heavy smoking; the patient is prepared first and the risks are explained.
Alternatives we may discuss with you
We may discuss a removable denture retained on fewer implants, an improved conventional denture, or a bone-building stage before the prosthesis.
Frequently asked questions
General answers; your own plan is set after examination.
Can a full arch be restored on a few implants?
Yes, a full fixed restoration on four to six implants is an established, well-studied approach. The right number is decided by the doctor according to bone and bite.
Will I leave with teeth on the same day?
In selected cases fixed temporary teeth can be fitted right after surgery. It depends on implant stability and bone quality, and the doctor decides during surgery.
What if I have very little bone?
The CBCT scan defines the options: bone grafting, a sinus lift, or placing implants where bone is available. Little bone is rarely the end of the road.
Fixed implant restoration or removable denture?
A fixed restoration is not removed and works like natural teeth for chewing and speech. A removable denture rests on the gums and must be taken out and cleaned daily.
How long does the whole journey take?
From a few months to longer, depending on bone building and healing periods. You receive an approximate timeline with the plan.
Is age a barrier?
Age by itself is not. General health and bone quality are what is assessed.
How do I start?
With an assessment visit including examination and 3D imaging, then a session to discuss the plan and options with you.
